Radiation therapy is one of the methods doctors use to treat cancer - as I observed in my Honours - but I soon found out that the effects of radiation, not to mention chemotherapy, had terrible consequences on the human body. There had to be another way to not only maintain but improve people's quality of life. Currently a PhD student, I research the proven anti-cancer properties of grains with the Functional Grains Centre (FGC) in the Department of Biomedical Science.
