ABOUTÂ ME
In my undergraduate degree at Swinburne University of Technology, I couldn't wait to graduate to pursue my career in medicine. When my interest peaked in the final year research units Biotechnology Research Project & Biomedical Project, I was propelled into a world of both research and medicine in my Honours year at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Examining CT scans, seeing patients and their records and working with a multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, oncologists and radiation therapists sparked my love for cancer research.

ABOUT ME: Welcome
Fast-forward to today and I'm doing what I love: I am a PhD student at Charles Sturt University studying the effects of phenolic compounds on cancerous pathways. As a biomedical scientist I study polyphenols aiming to find a better way to prevent and possibly treat cancer.

I am a first-generation-South-Sudanese who grew up in Australia after immigrating from Egypt at age 8 years. When I am not researching I run long distance, sing, play the piano and write both songs and non fiction.
